Singer guitarist Andy ‘Bad’ Robinson is a quite remarkable talent. His shows encompass a vast array of styles that have taken him from appearing in Monte Carlo with his Sinatra swing set, to Montreaux with an acoustic repertoire, to open air concerts and tours with his rock guitar tribute, to some of London’s top hotels with his pop/dance/party shows. Now he has combined all of these elements to produce the most varied solo show we believe you’ll ever see or hear.
If his singing were not enough, Andy spent his earlier years in the music business as a session guitarist. He worked for such acts as The Thompson Twins, Stock Aitken and Waterman, the Brand New Heavies, members of The Style Council, Spandau Ballet, and playing on many T.V. adverts as well as writing and producing a film score for Channel 4. It was during this time that he put together his rock guitar tribute, tipping his cap (or bandanna) to heroes such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, George Benson, Gary Moore, and Mark Knopfler. His guitar tribute evolved out of a love of the instrument and an admiration of these masters. His renditions of their classic songs are guaranteed to get every member of the audience reaching for their air guitars and joining Andy in full pose for some awesome solos. The sheer passion evoked in this set is itself quite mesmerising.
